Saturday
We spent the day at our friends' cranberry farm for their annual summer bash. It was a truly glorious summer day.
at the sand hill
We romped in the sand and water. Up the hill, run and dive, giggle, shout, and merriment.
We drove back from the sand hill in a golf cart and shared delicious food and conversation back in the yard. The kids of various ages found plenty of ways to entertain themselves :).

Sunday
There was a steady downpour in the afternoon. So we settled in with some rainy day activities.
experimenting with red cabbage powder, baking soda, and citric acid
We talked a little bit about acids and bases and reactions, but the most important thing that Ayla got out of the experience is this: "Science is FUN, Mama!" After all, she's only three. Then there was more fun with homemade play dough.
After the skies cleared up, we went on an evening wildflower hike.
There was a curious fawn that stayed near as we walked down the path.
We saw a tiny frog about the size of my pinky nail.
We saw a lot of trees and plants growing directly out of the rocks, including raspberry bushes with ripe berries.
tiger lily, bergamot (bee balm), Queen Anne's lace, brown-eyed susans, etc.

That wraps it up. How was your weekend? Good and glorious, I hope.
