This week has seen plenty of below zero (F) weather, and some of us nursing a second round of head colds. Blech.  So, Sylvia and I made a huge batch of black bean chili, home-baked bread, and other comfort food.  We've played games, read aloud oodles and oodles of picture books, sang songs, and watched many episodes of Richard Scarry's Busytown Mysteries on Netflix.  Tomorrow, now that we are well again and Camille has the day off of school, we head into the city to see friends, run errands, and go to the Children's Museum.  I'm ready to be out and about.

(Notice the mess in the background?  Yup, That's what our living room often looks like :)

With the large batch of chili (made with home-made roasted garden veggie tomato sauce), and the plenitude of eggs from the hen house, this has been lunch most days...a simple version of huevos rancheros.  Yum.  The one good thing about being a bit under the weather is that it makes it easier to be home-y and cozy and not feel like I should be doing something else.   Oh, and how thankful you feel just to be healthy and  breathing clearly afterwards...

  1. my living room looks like that too!

  2. I was going to crop out the mess, but why? I knew I wasn't the only one ;)

I love hearing what you have to say. Leave a comment?
